A month gone by..

A month gone by,

In this strange new place.

Most of it spent,

Trying to match it’s pace!

Buildings so tall,

Traffic so organized,

People so stylish,

Apples caramelized!

A great big university,

A huge gorgeous campus,

Eccentric genius professors,

Intelligence in surplus!

Heavy demanding classes,

Nights at the library,

Food from carts,

A self defence class cautionary!

Assignments and projects,

Handed out in abundance.

Tech talk and info sessions,

You need a lot of patience.

Weekends also go by,

Trying to keep up with the work load.

The hope is to find something good,

After this long difficult road.

Everything here moves fast,

Not just people and classes.

Within a single day,

A whole season passes.

Sunny in the morning,

Pouring in the afternoon.

By evening, fall was here,

Summer went by too soon.

Temperature has plummeted,

And wind picked up to boot.

Sweaters and jackets are out,

Stay covered from head to foot!

Amidst all this madness,

Every person is struggling along.

Though, this city teaches you something best,

Even while fighting, hum a little song!
